Verdict

The same Jens Hansen made tungsten ring, sold by Wētā Workshop at the same price. Choose the shop that suits your delivery and returns needs, and get the size right.

The One Ring, Gold Plated Tungsten Wētā Workshop $129 price checked October 16, 2026

Not measured by us. Details come from the retailer.

What we like

  • Made by Jens Hansen, the workshop behind the film rings
  • Same price as buying from Jens Hansen
  • Gold plated tungsten that resists scratches
  • Clear sizing warning on the listing

What to consider

  • Cannot be resized
  • Whole sizes only, US 6 to 13
  • Gold is a plating over tungsten

The ring in brief

Wētā Workshop's tungsten One Ring costs $129 and is, by Wētā's own description, crafted by Jens Hansen Gold & Silversmith. It is the same product Jens Hansen sells directly, which we review here. Wētā Workshop holds the Warner Bros. licence, and Jens Hansen makes the One Ring for Wētā under it.

That makes this review short on differences in the ring and longer on what changes when you buy it from Wētā.

What we know

From the Wētā Workshop product page:

  • Material. Gold plated tungsten with 18K gold plating.
  • Maker. Crafted by Jens Hansen Gold & Silversmith.
  • Shape. Crafted to the exact shape, thickness and proportions of the original movie prop.
  • Inscription. Described by Wētā as Black Speech runes engraved on the inside and outside of the ring. Jens Hansen describes the same engraving as Elvish runes; the language is the Black Speech and the letters are Tengwar, so both are right.
  • Sizes. US 6 to 13, with UK equivalents listed.
  • Resizing. Wētā warns that tungsten cannot be resized.
  • Box. Walnut wood with a magnetic closure and blue velvet lining.
  • Skin. Described as 100% hypoallergenic.

What we haven't verified

We have not compared a ring bought from Wētā with one bought from Jens Hansen, so we cannot confirm that they are identical in every detail, only that both shops say the same workshop makes them. We have not weighed or measured the ring. Delivery times, shipping costs and return terms vary by country and change over time, so we do not quote them here; check both checkouts before you order.

Who it suits

Buy from Wētā if you are already ordering other Wētā pieces, prefer its shipping options to your country, or simply like buying from the licence holder. Buy from Jens Hansen if you want to deal with the workshop directly. Either way, the advice is the same as for the Jens Hansen listing: tungsten is a good everyday ring if you are sure of your size, and a risky one if you are not.

For a ring that can be adjusted, look at the Jens Hansen silver or gold versions, which Wētā also sells in silver.

How it compares

All the licensed tungsten, silver and gold One Rings are in One Ring replicas compared. If you are unsure whether a tungsten ring you have seen elsewhere is the real one, read is this the real One Ring?; this ring is one of the most copied replicas on marketplaces. The background on the prop is on our One Ring page.
